Just yesterday i was bemoaning the absence of spring flowers as we reach the end of March; then today, as if Nature were just waiting for someone to complain, there they were: crocuses!

The days are still chilly and the snack bar is still shuttered, but the sun is shining longer and brighter, the air is fresh, and the gulls are singing.

I happened to walk past Kilmer Elementary School and Sullivan High School today and noticed that the beautiful architectural details at the entrances are the same. Since they are across the street from each other, i wonder if they were originally part of the same school.
