There was a shooting on the 1500 block of Morse Avenue a few minutes past noon today. Two men were injured and taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. Even though this picture was taken more than an hour after the shooting, i didn't want to get any closer than this. I'm not especially brave and am repulsed by violence. It breaks my heart that this kind of violence happens anywhere, at any time; but i find it incomprehensible that shooting another human being is becoming so normalized an activity in our neighborhoods that it happens on a busy street in the middle of the day.
